I'm working with the leading manufacturer and supplier of sugar and sweetener products in Australia. They are committed to delivering high-quality products while minimising our environmental impact. As part of their efforts, we are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join the maintenance dept. This person ensures the reliability and maximum value of their electrical, instrumentation, and utilities assets at the best cost level. You will be a proactive leader, demonstrating technical expertise and supporting the engineering department in planning and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:
- Field-focused Reliability: Implement proactive measures to ensure the reliability of electrical, instrumentation, and utilities assets. Utilise principles such as FMEA and RCA to identify and address potential issues before they become critical.
- Leadership and Technical Support: Show leadership qualities in planning, troubleshooting, and providing technical support for electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues. Collaborate with the engineering department to ensure smooth operations and optimal performance.
- Innovative Maintenance Practices: Introduce innovative thinking and help evolve into smarter, modern maintenance practices for enhanced efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Support Maintenance Team: Collaborate with the site maintenance team to provide day-to-day troubleshooting assistance. Assist in updating asset management processes, asset registers, and effectively use SAP for maintenance activities.
- Long-term Upgrades and Projects: Assist in scoping and developing long-term electrical upgrades and capital projects based on asset condition and performance.
- Duty Engineer and Health & Safety: Be available for weekend work and act as the duty engineer on rostered days to issue permits and supervise workers' health and safety aspects.
- Documentation and Standards: Update electrical drawings, electrical standards, and other associated asset documentation to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in the EI&PC fields through ongoing evaluation of processes and systems.
- Electrical Hazardous Area Compliance: Be responsible for maintaining electrical hazardous area compliance and dossier management.
- PLC Programming Assistance: Provide relief PLC programming assistance when required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role within an industrial or food setting.
- Familiarity with reliability principles such as FMEA and RCA.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar asset management software.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
