Our client is a privately owned Australian manufacturer of leading-edge innovative products for the commercial sector.
They are now poised to enter an untapped market with few competitors but enormous growth potential and are looking to appoint a General Manager / Emerging CEO who can lead them on this journey.
 
Reporting to the Board, this person will have full P&L and cross functional accountability for sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, and manufacturing. Your key remit will be to deliver on an ambitious 3-5 year growth strategy, identifying new products and markets as the business evolves, as well as building the foundations for growth in people, systems and process in order to deliver sustainable profit results. You will work closely with manufacturing operations to scale up, drive continuous improvement, productivity, and safety initiatives. As a hands-on operator in a small growing business, you will be expected to operate effectively at Board level as well as with key customers and the shop floor.
 
The successful candidate will ideally be tertiary qualified and have at least 3-5 years’ experience as a GM/ MD/ CEO or Divisional GM role that has full P&L responsibility.  The CEO needs to have experience gained in a B2B manufacturing environment which has given them exposure to multiple channels, products, and customers. Experience gained from packaging, industrial manufacturing, building materials and construction will be highly regarded. Small company experience, combined with large company experience is ideal, as this person needs to be accustomed to working in an agile and hands on role that requires energy, vision and initiative.
