The Organisation
National Intermodal is an independent developer of critical logistics infrastructure. The organisation facilitates the Australian Government's significant investment of world class, open access intermodal terminals across Australia's east coast.
 
Six Degrees Executive are exclusively recruiting a number of key national leadership roles as part of the delivery team to design, build and deliver the remaining projects.
 
The Opportunity
As the Planning and Scheduling Manager you will be the key person in this organisation who looks after all the planning and scheduling functions across the entire program of works for this multi-billion dollar project. National Intermodal is a newly established Government Business Enterprise so you will be responsible for setting up the master schedule and developing the planning and scheduling standards tailored for these projects. There will be a fair amount of reporting in this role, especially as the projects ramp up.
  • Define the project scope, objectives and detailed steps required to achieve them.
  • Set up and manage the Primavera P6 environment, ensuring seamless integration with contractor schedules and systems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies as required, integrating them into the broader program of work.
  • Report on project status, deliverable progress, risks, issues and constraints to the PMO and project service functions.
  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders across multiple disciplines and integrate that into the broader program.
 This is a Sydney-based role. The offices are in the Sydney CBD - 3 min walk from Wynyard Station, in the EY building.
 
Skills and Experience Required
  • Previous experience setting up the planning and scheduling process for a major program of work would be highly regarded. Our preference would be towards candidates with major infrastructure industry but we are open.
  • Previous experience using Primavera P6 is critical for this role.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 8 years' planning, scheduling or project controls experience.
  • High attention to detail especially in reporting.
  • High level of organisation skills.
  • Agility and adaptability in mindset. This is a newly set up enterprise so you will need to be happy to be hands on as well as looking after the big picture piece.
