About the role:

Reporting to the General Manager - Australia, this key role as the National Key Account Lead will see you drive the strategy and growth for a significant company product portfolio.  In your first 12 months, you will focus on building a successful thriving team, protecting and growing market share through the distribution channel, and providing accurate sales forecasts and key account insights for the channel.   You will be responsible for a significant product portfolio, currently in a growth phase, with a goal to increase this across the next 3 years.  You will leverage growth of the product portfolio via established market contacts. 

As part of the leadership team, you will work specifically with the key distributor accounts, managing one National Key Account Manager (and eventually adding another) as well as influencing the regional sales teams with your effective leadership style.   You will be a champion for both the company and their customers.  This will be achieved by providing excellent customer service and building key relationships.  The strategy is to establish value with the company's products and service, so that they are the recognised as the provider of quality and choice. 

Key responsibilities:
  • Penetration into key accounts across the national business to support sales and growth via distribution & corporate channels;
  • Develop a deep understanding of the sales outcomes with reseller accounts;
  • Support the company 5-year strategy, including a move towards more category management;
  • Building strong connections & understanding of networks, including regional & HO;
  • Commit to regular communication and customer visits with key clients, including a preparedness for national travel.
  • Planning & attending travel field days and the occasional weekend sales conference.

About You:

  • A seasoned National Sales Manager with experience in sales and account management within a distribution channel structure, demonstrating excellent leadership skills and experience in change management;
  • Expertise with national selling and key account management, including strong relationship building skills to drive sales through establishing value and building trust with key contacts in the retail distribution channel;
  • Experience with developing networks and driving sales via distribution channels and corporate accounts;
  • A team player who can also work autonomously to achieve great results;
  • Diversity of experience across different industries selling tech-enabled products into distribution channels - could be agriculture, industrial commodities, power tools, technical products, etc.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Ability to inspire and influence a variety of key stakeholders internally & externally.
