The Organisation
Our client is a global leader in providing sustainable water solutions, leading in the manufacture and sales of water treatment and fluid handling equipment. This is an international business with over 11,000 employees globally. This role will sit onsite at their Western Sydney based factory, which has about 60 headcount across the manufacturing operation. 

The Opportunity
This is a Manufacturing Engineer role with a mechanical focus. In this role, you will play a key role in ensuirng the efficiency and effectiveness of the manufacturing processes. You will be joining a team of 7, however you will be the core Manufacturing Engineer in the team. The broader team you will be joining is the Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance team. Your core responsibilities span across continuous improvement, process improvement and generating SOPs. There is a Site Lean Engineer who you will have a dotted line to and will be partnering closely with for certain initiatives as related to the manufacturing process. This role reports into the Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance Manager.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Identify areas for process optimisation and cost reduction while maintaining product quality and safety standards.
  • Support production facilities with a range of engineering tasks including component set up in SAP, product machining, fabrication, assembly and testing. 
  • Work with the design team to develop products to meet efficient manufacturing requirements.
  • Maintain data integrity for BOMs. 
  • Running continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean and Six Sigma projects.

Skill and Experience Required
  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or relevant industry experience. 
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar manufacturing engineer, process engineer, CI engineer role or similar in a manufacturing environment - ideally with a company that has a product development team based here in Australia. 
  • Previous experience with SAP or a similar large ERP system. 
  • Familiarity with casting and machining processes would be very helpful for this role. 
  • Experience with a CAD software such as 3D SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, CATIA or similar functionality etc. would be highly regarded for this role.
