About our Client

Our client is a successful Australian manufacturer and importer of highly quality consumer goods products, who have achieved enviable success across multiple sales channels. They are based in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne and currently have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced supply chain professional in the capacity of Logistics Manager.


About the Opportunity

Reporting through to executive leadership level and leading a large team across multiple sites, the Logistics Manager is responsible for the development and execution of domestic and international logistics strategy alongside leadership of continuous improvement initiatives, to optimise customer service levels and drive down cost to serve. Specific accountability includes:

  • Leading a multi-site warehousing function responsible for the receipt, storage, pick & pack and dispatch of product in a regulated environment.
  • Managing the performance of 3PL distribution partners, including collaboration relating to optimal transport modes, routes, and equipment.
  • Overseeing a large, complex import function including the management of freight forwarding partners.
  • Partnering with supply chain planning, production and 3PL teams to optimise stock movements and holdings across a multi-site distribution network.
  • Lead and participate in cross functional strategic supply chain projects and initiatives.
 
Skills & Experience

  • Extensive warehousing, transport, and international logistics experience, ideally on a regional or multi-site scale and in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and improving the performance of large 3PL partners.
  • A track record of building high performing teams and getting the best out of your people.
  • A strong safety, compliance and CoR focus.
