Wholly owned by the Australian Government, National Intermodal is an independent developer of critical logistics infrastructure. They facilitate both the current operation and future development of world class, open access intermodal precincts across the eastern states of Australia.
 
Six Degrees Executive have been exclusively engaged to recruit for a Commercial & Policy Principle to lead market analysis, cost modelling and business case development that will contribute to corporate planning and new business development projects.
 
The Opportunity
 
This in an exciting opportunity for a highly energised strategy specialist to leverage your analysis, investigating and research capability to advise senior management and the Board on major strategic initiatives. You will be involved in assessing and reporting on significant business case opportunities, economic, policy and market issues.
 
The Role
 
Seen as a trusted advisor within the organisation, this is a role that would suit somebody who presents well and has confidence when dealing with the CEO and Board. Leading and contributing to multiple projects, you will be accountable for providing accurate, timely and compelling advice to senior management in a wide variety of commercial, financial and market areas. Your responsibilities will consist of, but not be limited to, the following:
 
  • Preparing reports providing analysis and advice, identifying key issues for policy options and recommendations.
  • Conducting financial analysis of business opportunities including acquisitions and business cases for capital projects.
  • Preparing presentations to demonstrate complex concepts in a highly compelling visual format.
  • Developing, manipulating, and analysing multiple data sets to synthesize and inform conclusions and recommendations.
  • Supporting the quality of decision making across the organisation through data discovery and analytics.
  • Evaluating and reporting on different market segments.
  • Evaluating projects to balance economic and policy objectives.
  • Evaluating profitability and performance of business units, divisions, or subsidiary companies.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious individual who is driven to make a significant impact by challenging the status quo. Somebody who is good with the numbers, has strong research skills, financial modelling capability and excellent presentation skills with the ability of turning numbers into a compelling story. With relevant tertiary qualifications including Economics, Policy, Strategy or Planning, you will bring experience in evaluating large capital cost infrastructure projects and developing business cases.
