Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take a lead role in crafting engineering solutions for their mobile waste and road sweeping equipment. This position places a strong emphasis on tailoring solutions, exploring new product applications, and actively participating in Research and Development projects. You will also extend technical support and guidance to Sales, Operations, and Customer Service Departments, presenting inventive customer concepts and solutions, while also lending support for engineering design overflow on Bulkwaste and Vacuum products.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake research and conceptualization for designated projects.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop comprehensive mechanical designs utilizing CAD software.
  • Conduct Finite Element Analysis to assess design performance.
  • Ensure solutions align with safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Back new projects from the manufacturing to assembly phases.
  • Refine designs in collaboration with manufacturing teams.
  • Generate exhaustive documents and reports detailing new designs, test outcomes, and insights gained.
  • Deliver presentations on projects and findings to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Assess opportunities for cost reduction through design, process, and supply chain enhancements.
 
Requirements:
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in utilizing SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Extensive familiarity with ANSYS and/or other pertinent FEA software (Highly Desirable).
  • Industry knowledge in municipal, agricultural, or automotive sectors (Highly Desirable).
  • Experience with Structured Text (Highly Desirable)
  • Familiarity with chassis body builders guidelines, VSB, ADR’s, and Australian Standards.
  • Display effective communication abilities with both internal and external staff members.
  • Show proven ability to work autonomously and in a collaborative team setting.
