As they continue to grow their operations, they are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join their finance team.
 
Position Overview

As a Cost Accountant at you will play a crucial role in analysing and controlling the organisation's costs. You will work closely with various departments to gather and analyse financial data, assess cost structures, and provide insights that contribute to strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information effectively. They will also have exposure to both standard and average costing.
 
Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect and analyse financial data related to production, inventory, and operational activities.
  • Monitor and analyse cost variances, providing explanations and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on cost trends, budget variances, and other key performance indicators to management.
  • Work closely with the finance team to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in cost accounting.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification CA or CPA desirable but not essential
  • Proven experience as a Cost Accountant in a similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
