With local manufacturing in Australia, they are experiencing phenomenal growth in Australia, UK, and USA, and are looking to increase their expertise in the Australian mechanical design engineering team.
About the Role
Reporting through to the Senior Design Engineer and being part of an established NPD/R&D team, you will be focused on innovative projects from concept to commercialisation, whilst delivering on customer and consumer insights. You will need to be advanced in mechanical design for volume manufacturing working with metals and polymers and be an expert in 3D CAD design and 2D drawings on SolidWorks with model and drawing version/revision control in a vault system such as PDM.
Key Responsibilities and Experience
• Design FMEA (Failure mode and effect analysis)
• Technical Documentation - design specifications, test procedures, user manuals
• Design and implementation of test and validation systems
• Provide technical support to other cross functional teams
• Mechanical design engineer with at least 8 years’ experience
• Design failure mode and effect analysis (DFMEA)
• Designed and implemented mechanical unit test systems for product testing
• Defining design requirements, pre-compliance testing, electrical integration
• Be a creative Industrial designer
The successful candidate needs to be highly creative, capable of taking a concept and working through the design process and be an independent thinker. Collaboration, enthusiasm and being self-directed is important, and the ability to multitask and meet key milestones, is essential.
