The Organisation

You will be working for a leader in the FMCG sector, who are currently going through the process of modernising their procurement function with a large emphasis on enabling it to become a key strategic partner.
 
The Opportunity
 
Working as the Category Manager for Packaging your role and input to the organisation is paramount to the day-to-day delivery of key products as well as the success of the organisation itself. Working closely with the Procurement Manager you will be given autonomy to strategically develop and lead the category, as well as being given exposure to the wider procurement team, leading to unmatched potential for progression and development. Further to this, if sustainability is something you feel passionately about then this opportunity would give you a platform to have a leading input, and a voice across the entire organisation to make a real difference. As Category Manager you will have responsibility of the procurement and contract management process from start to beginning, meaning you will have true ownership of the category, its suppliers, and its stakeholders. Skills and Experience Required
 
The successful candidate will need to be strong analytically, have sound category management experience technically and strategically to have the ability to manage source to contract end to end. There is a requirement to have strong soft skills in presenting and influencing senior level stakeholders both internally and externally. Packaging experience is a nice to have for this position, the organisation is open to general directs from a Manufacturing, FMCG or Chemical industry background where direct experience would be most relevant. Some of the key requirements from the hiring managers for this role are as follows:
 
  • Someone that is active and passionate about continuous improvement or process improvement.
  • Strategic people as the function is actively moving away from an operational procurement setting.
  • Someone that isn't reliant on following a process and can run a tender without guidance and navigate through any requirements thanks to prior experience.
