Our client, Bared Footwear, is one of Australia's retail success stories and is about to undergo a significant growth phase. This 15-year-old business has grown incrementally year on year with both an instore and ecommerce presence in Australia and an international ecommerce offering. While financially established and flourishing, they have gained success thus far as a highly agile and entrepreneurially-minded business. "We make great looking, super comfy shoes and we employ only the best human being to look after our customer" explains founder, Anna Baird. We are now seeking a new Head of Marketing to drive the business through this transformational growth phase, leading the marketing and digital function.
 
About the Role

The Head of Marketing is responsible for ensuring effective overall performance of the Bared Footwear marketing team by developing and executing brand and communication strategies, engaging campaigns and effective digital marketing initiatives to facilitate brand growth and increase revenue. Reporting directly to the CEO you will play a vital role shaping the brand both locally and internationally, online and offline. Manage a team of 12 (inclusive of five direct reports) across marketing, digital, brand, PR trade and creative.
 
Responsibilities
  • Lead the business through a substantial growth phase, ensuring significant revenue growth through effective data-driven marketing initiatives
  • Drive brand awareness and positioning in market both locally and internationally to secure new customers and grow existing customer base
  • Grow the international revenue stream, launching into new regions both online and offline
  • Introduce best-in-class marketing systems and processes to improve efficiencies and drive optimal commercial success
  • Successfully build and drive digital transformation, offering a best-in-class omnichannel experience and personalisation
  • Establish and nurture a high-performing marketing team, setting KPIs and performance plans to ensure clarity in roles and output expectations

 
Skills & Expertise
  • 10+ years marketing experience within the retail and fashion industry both in Australia and internationally (US ideally)
  • A passionate people leader that knows how to retain, inspire and drive performance
  • Strong digital marketing knowledge and experience overseeing a team
  • Proven experience growing brand awareness and positioning
  • Deeply immersed in the women’s fashion / retail sector with your finger on the pulse for trends, cultural shifts etc.
  • Experience working in a founder-led business ideally, with the ability to handle ambiguity and an entrepreneurial working model
  • P&L management experience
  • Willingness to roll sleeves up and get the job done
  • Key attributes: pace, positivity and resilience
