About the company
Our client is in the industrial and manufacturing services space in the southeast suburbs of Melbourne who are looking for some immediate assistance in a Finance Manager capacity.
 
About the role
The Finance Manager role will initially be a 6-month contract role with an opportunity for permanency and/or extension. Reporting into the CFO, this position will be responsible in managing a small team of accountants, AP and AR. The role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, statutory accounting and the auditing process within a global business. With a focus on transactional accounting, this is a fantastic opportunity to join this organisation at a time of transformation, both within the team and business, as well as the industry. Responsibilities include:
  • Provide accurate monthly, quarterly and yearly actual financial reports
  • Lead the closing processes for the company
  • To support the ANZ finance team in financial planning and analysis
  • Evaluate, plan and implement improvements in finance processes and reporting to support business strategy, planning and performance
  • Standardise reporting requirements and automate systems and processes to ensure accurate reporting and analysis
  • Lead internal and external audits and respond to queries
  • Ensure the actual team controls have been met and documented in relation to close process and general ledger
  • Co-ordinate, review and approve all general ledger reconciliations
  • Control major accounts (warranty/bank/AP/Inventory)
  • Act as a technical expert using the various business systems and accounting
  • Manage and mentor accounting and broad finance
 
 
About you
  • Previous experience in a similar role, managing a team and statutory and transactional accounting
  • Previous experience in industrial services and/or manufacturing, desirable
  • CPA qualification required
  • Experience with SAP desirable, but not required
  • You have Big 4 experience, desirable not required
  • This role is hybrid, with half in the office and half working from home, based in the southeast
