Our client is a leading global FMCG business with a rich history domestically and overseas, spanning a global headcount in the 10s of 1000s and production sites across the globe. The local operations is well entrenched in the Australian market, featuring highly reputable brand names and operations across the country. This role will be based out of a key manufacturing site in Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs.
About the opportunity:
As a Senior Packaging Technologist, you will be working across one of the core SBUs of this global manufacturing giant. This role will sit as part of an existing specialist packaging team, working closely with core stakeholders across New Product Development, Operations, Marketing and Procurement functions. From a remit perspective, your role will include:
About you:
Tertiary qualified in a relevant background such as food science, materials science or chemical engineering (or similar), you may have come into packaging from a technologist/NPD background or from the chemical/materials science stream of industry. Naturally curious with an eye for detail and sound commercial acumen, this role will be well suited to a packaging professional who has a strong grasp of packaging methodologies, APCO requirements and functional tools such as PREP.
Given the diverse range of stakeholder you will be engaging with, having well-rounded communication skills up and down the organisational hierarchy will be critical for this role, and we are looking circa 5 years minimum from an industrial experience perspective - settings within FMCG, packaging or similar will be considered.

The role will require travel between sites, but largely limited to Victoria so non-extensive, you will also be supported to visit industry trade shows to be across packaging initiatives domestic and global.

- Working towards short, medium and long term sustainability outcomes, both APCO-centric and broader global strategy.
