Position Overview:
The Safety Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the organization’s safety initiatives across multiple sites. This role involves the development and implementation of safety policies, conducting risk assessments, providing safety training, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations. The Safety Manager will play a key role in promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the organization.

The Safety Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the organization’s safety initiatives across multiple sites. This role involves the development and implementation of safety policies, conducting risk assessments, providing safety training, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations. The Safety Manager will play a key role in promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and enforce safety policies tailored to various sites, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, identifying hazards and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with site managers to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of safety measures.
- Design and deliver safety training programs, ensuring all employees understand and follow safety protocols.
- Lead investigations of workplace incidents, maintain detailed records, and report findings to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with OHS regulations, and liaise with authorities during inspections and audits.
- Promote continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and updating safety policies and introducing new practices.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans, ensuring all sites are prepared for emergencies and staff are trained.
- A degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related discipline.
- Safety management certifications, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent, are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in a safety management role within a manufacturing, food production, or similar industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence and engage staff at all levels.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a safe working environment.
