About the role

The Safety and Compliance Coordinator role is a critical role within the business, offering a diversified footprint across the HSEQ function, including regulatory, environment and safety systems. 

The immediate scope of work is focused around the continued elevation of the business's baseline, creating a strong framework where operational safety can succeed. This role will champion safety on site, backed by senior operational stakeholders who have a demonstrated appetite to continue supporting a strong safety and wellbeing culture. Fundamentally, the role will involve:
  • The opportunity to build out a Safety Management System, creating of and building upon existing SWMs and SOPs to create a more robust set of processes
  • Immediate projects centred around regulatory and environmental compliance with relevant governing bodies - key focus in the short-mid term
  • Supporting external audits from a customer and accreditation perspective - ISO9001 currently certified. 
  • Driving safety at a site level, potentially supporting around the Return to Work (RTW) function, but core focussed on operations and systems



Who are you?

This role would best suit an early career or aspiring HSE professional from operational environments - think manufacturing, transport, logistics or warehousing. Whether you have worked in a HSE role previously, or perhaps a role in quality, compliance or engineering disciplines where you may have had transferable project exposure, this role will give you plenty of exciting challenges to sink your teeth into while being backed by a supportive leadership structure. Ideally, you will have the following skillset:
  • Demonstrated experience in HSE, engineering or a broader operations/technical discipline
  • Sound working knowledge of WHS principles
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, with a big focus on influencing skills
