Six Degrees are partnering exclusively with one of Australia's leading & largest food manufacturers. Leading a site in the outer Western Suburbs of Melbourne.
An exciting opportunity to take on full site responsibility for 300+ FTE people across all key functions including; manufacturing, safety, quality, engineering, CI and warehouse. P&L responsibility - Play the lead role in setting the site strategy for the next 3-5 years. Lead the operations team onsite, being the key leader in terms of continuing to grow site culture and overall performance. Take ownership in driving a CI mindset across all areas of operations on-site.
In this key role, you'll leverage your strategic mindset and operational know-how to fuel growth, streamline costs, and lead the site to excellence. Your expertise will empower the team, and shape the site's future.

Primary Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Management & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and direct the manufacturing function on-site, establishing operational excellence in manufacturing quality, cost, efficiency and productivity.
- Lead and direct the plant's manufacturing function, driving operational excellence in quality, cost, efficiency, and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, food quality standards, and cost objectives.
- Develop and refine systems and processes to track and optimize productivity, metrics, and performance targets.
- Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement, encouraging innovation and excellence.
- Accountable for financial performance of manufacturing operation to plan.
- Complete annual cost centre budgets. Ensure effective management systems are in place to monitor plant overhead, labour, raw material, ingredient, packaging and storage and freight costs against budget.
- Play a lead role in leading through a significant capital investment plan while also maintaining and building on site performance.
- Drive site maintenance with the Maintenance Manager, creating a preventative maintenance environment and culture.
People Leadership:
- Enhance the senior management team's expertise, providing strategic guidance and direction that spans operations and manufacturing. Build, lead, and manage a high-achieving manufacturing team, fostering a culture of excellence. Ensure seamless alignment of individual roles, skills, and performance with business goals, promoting accountability and competency.
- Lead with purpose and vision, achieving outstanding site-wide results through collaborative leadership and effective engagement at all levels
What will you need to be successful?
- Experience in similar leadership roles in Food manufacturing or related industries.
- Tertiary qualifications in technical, engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' expeirence at the Site Leadership level ideally in the food indusry.
- Experience in leading through a significant capital works.
- Engaging People Leader, inclusive style and approach but can be hands on when required.
- Ability to think strategically & innovatively across operations.
