About the opportunity 

This rare leadership role in will support the product management lifecycle, cradle to grave, across multiple sites and strategic business units, each with their own niche focus areas and opportunities for improvement. Working across a range of regulatory frameworks and functional legislation areas, you will be actively interfacing with a range of stakeholder both internal to the business and across different external bodies. Internally, these functions may include Production/Operations, Procurement, R&D, Supply Chain and Quality, with external stakeholders including suppliers and regulators amongst others. Core aspects of this role will include:
  • Ensuring the business meets it compliance and regulatory obligations across its ANZ operations
  • Functional responsibility for the product compliance program, driving performance against the Product Scorecard 
  • Immersing yourself in latest industry trends and sustainability initiatives such as APCO and how the business can engage with these stakeholders
  • Supporting multiple business units as the local subject matter expert across the full spectrum of product stewardship, including manufacturing, product safety, end of life circularity, responsible sourcing and transport.


What we are looking for?

Relevant to this organisation, you have ideally worked in a manufacturing setting of some description, else had exposure to a product management program across consumer goods/hardware/retail. With standalone roles in the product stewardship function being rare, you may have worked in a setting where you are accountable for aspects of product stewardship, such as Engineering, Sustainability/Environmental Manager, R&D, Compliance and/or Regulatory functions. You are an excellent communicator, someone who can actively interface with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders and influence without direct managerial authority, to ensure the business is aligned on a journey towards better product outcomes, both commercial and functional. Desirable tangible includes:
  • Tertiary technical background in a relevant subject matter, such as Chemistry, Engineering, Science or similar 
  • Ideally circa 7 years-grad experience in one of the above functional subject matter streams - Engineering/R&D/Quality/Environmental/Sustainability
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills are critical to this role, with the indirect influencing component of this role being the benchmark on its success
  • Project management skills, with the ability to juggle concurrent projects and deadlines
