Our client is a leading services provider that is embarking on a significant transformative agenda led by a newly appointed Chief Executive Officer. The organisation is a government funded entity that is seeking to expand their service offering into the private sector including servicing government, education, healthcare, consumer, industrial / consumer and not-for-profit organisations, ensuring that clients achieve value for money and operational efficiency.

The organisation is based in the CBD, offering hybrid working.
 
The role: 
 
The role reports into the CEO, will form part of the ELT and will offer a unique opportunity to shape the future of procurement, driving innovation and excellence. The role will be responsible for establishing and embedding best practice procurement capability across data analytics, category planning and management, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and governance.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Working closely with the CEO and the ELT in ensuring KPIs around new revenue streams and key verticals are achieved
  • Building out the procurement function, uplifting the procurement capability and service offering for the organisation
  • Leading and developing  the procurement team to ensure high performance
  • Analyse procurement data and market trends to identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and risk mitigation, process improvement, automation, and optimisation, driving continuous enhancement of procurement enablement initiatives
  • Promote sustainable procurement practices, ensuring ethical and environmentally responsible sourcing.
Skills / Expertise required: 
  • Proven experience in a CPO / HoP level with a track record of transformative achievements
  • Strong commercial nous
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing teams sizes of 10+
  • Strong stakeholder management abilities, exceptional negotiation skills
  • Experience gained from large multinational organisations or ASX listed organisations
  • Exposure to best practice procurement and technology implementation
  • Ideally degree qualified, MBA or related  
This role is Melbourne based.
