Our client is a leading manufacturing business located in Melbourne's northern suburbs. With a strong demonstrated track record of success in their field and significant growth in recent years, they are well placed to continue to grow, via a mix of investment and a strong program across manufacturing and technical. 

About the role

As the Quality Manager, this role will operate in a standalone capacity in a highly automated manufacturing environment. As a core stakeholder for the site GMP program, you will be responsible for ensuring product quality meets and exceeds regulatory and supplier parameters. Pertinent to this particular role, core focus areas will include:

  • Driving the quality management program in a consumer goods setting
  • Strong stakeholder engagement across multi-functional internal customers and external partners such as suppliers and customers
  • Management of the customer complaint program, with a focus on complaint management at the manufacturing source
  • Utilising technical skillset to drive change management agenda across quality, build out more robust QMS program 
  • Maintain ISO9001 certification and ensure strong audit performance both across ISO and customer audits.


What we are looking for?

Outside of the technical requirements, the person who will ultimately succeed in the role is a professional who is able to work autonomously. While well supported by broader technical peer group, the QM in the business is a standlaone role, so someone who is self driven and knows how to work under their own steam will be critical. As a leader, you will be able to bring together stakeholders of different functional background towards the common goal of high product quality, knowing that this underpins a successful manufacturing enterprise. Exposure-wise, we would be looking for:
  • Demonstrated experience at a leadership level in a manufacturing setting, managing a quality program.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Engineering/Science/Chemical
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly managing demanding external stakeholders
