Role Overview: We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Project Managers with expertise in managing building construction and upgrade projects. The successful candidate will lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all aspects of project management, procurement, and stakeholder engagement are handled with precision and professionalism.
 
Project Management Processes:
  • Develop comprehensive project management plans, including procurement and delivery methodologies, risk assessments, and value management strategies.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of life-cycle considerations in building construction projects.
 
Procurement and Management of Consultants:
  • Prepare project briefs, terms of reference for consultants, and consultancy tender documents.
  • Ensure that designs meet project brief requirements, are fit-for-purpose, offer value for money, and comply with statutory regulations.
 
Procurement and Management of Contractors:
  • Prepare tender documents for both Design & Construct (non-traditional) and fully documented (traditional) contracts.
  • Apply knowledge of Australian Standards for tendering and non-price criteria in tender evaluations.
  • Act as or assist the Principal’s Representative and Contract Superintendent, overseeing project commissioning, handover documentation, defect liability periods, and building maintenance requirements.
 
Professional Expertise:
  • Bring client-side project management experience in building construction and upgrades, ideally within comparable organisation.
  • Hold relevant qualifications in building construction or a related field.
 
Communication and Business Acumen:
  • Effectively manage communications and stakeholder relationships.
  • Prepare and present project reports to management and clients.
  • Achieve project targets related to time, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Work within organisational policies, processes, and workplace health and safety standards.
  • Prepare fee proposals and ensure project profitability.
  • Maintain accurate project management data and systems, with a strong focus on compliance and audit trails.
  • Seek and implement opportunities for efficiencies in business systems and processes.
 
Team Leadership:
  • Operate independently while leading project teams composed of internal and external resources.
  • Manage the competing interests of project team members and stakeholders effectively.
  • Provide ad-hoc advice and support to other project managers as needed.
 
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Proven experience in client-side project management for building construction and upgrade projects.
  • Educational background in building construction or a related discipline.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with contract law concepts, industry practices, and the roles of various stakeholders in construction projects.
