Six Degrees Executive is delighted to collaborate with this proud Tasmanian retailer based in Launceston. Dedicated to supporting independent supermarket retailers and serving food service customers, they are embarking on an exciting transformational journey with a renewed growth strategy. Due to this growth agenda, they are seeking a Category Manager to join their growing team. 
 
The role
Reporting to the GM - Merchandise and Marketing, the Category Manager will each oversee a small number of categories with the suport of wider team. This pivotal role involves creating and executing category strategies to enhance product assortment, pricing strategies, and promotional activities aimed at driving sales and profitability. Close collaboration with vendors, marketing teams, and store operations will be essential to ensure the success of each category.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies aligned with TIR's growth objectives.
  • Optimise product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies to maximise sales and profitability.
  • Foster strong supplier relationships to improve range, quality, trading terms, and financial incentives.
  • Analyse market trends and consumer insights to develop data-driven category plans.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective execution of category strategies across stores.
Experience and Qualifications
Degree qualified, the ideal candidate will have gained strong commercial experience within a sophisticated retail or FMCG environment.  Particular exposure to managing fresh or grocery categories is greatly desired. A strong understanding and proven ability to create insights and data lead plans to drive sales, revenue and profit coupled with a passionate for building scommercial partnerships with partners is important for this position.
