Product Developer/Graphic Designer

Location: melbourne
Salary: $$
Job Type: permanent
Contact: Robert Scacco
About the Business:
We’re working with a fast-growing promotional merchandise business that’s shifting from just delivering products to being more sales and idea-driven. They create retail-inspired branded merchandise for major clients like L’Oréal and Coopers — think stubby holders, drink bottle, ugly Christmas sweaters, oversized hoodies — adapted into realistic, on-brand promotional products. With a strong proposal success rate (around 75%), they’re expanding their sales team and looking for someone who can help fuel that growth creatively. The culture is informal, collaborative, and trend-focused

The role:
You’ll work closely with the sales team to turn product concepts into visuals or quick PDFs they can show clients, helping bridge creative ideas with commercial execution. It’s a mix of speed, practicality, and trend awareness — you’ll know what looks good and what can actually be made.

Repsonsibilities:
  • Proactive product development — working with third-party manufacturers to ensure design ideas can be produced and stay on-brand
  • Rapidly mocking up new product ideas and refining templates when needed
  • Mapping and interpreting retail and consumer trends to keep the range fresh and relevant
  • Managing the existing portfolio of products while juggling short and long-term development ideas
  • Collaborating closely with sourcing, supply chain, and sales to align creative concepts with manufacturing capabilities
  • Using tools like Illustrator, Photoshop, and AI design platforms (Figma is used internally) to bring ideas to life quickly
Requirements:
  • Quick, adaptable, and comfortable working with ambiguity. You enjoy working in a creative, collaborative environment where ideas move fast
  • You’ve got a solid grasp of what’s trending and know how to translate that into products that clients actually want.
  • Expererience across graphic design using tools similar to Illustrator, Photoshop, and AI design platforms.
