The business is undergoing a period of significant growth and investment, backed by private equity and on an exciting change management journey. The product is highly visible, with a diversified market across retail, convenience and foodservice. 

About the role

This critical senior leadership role will fully own the business food safety and quality agenda, with a multi-site remit encompassing 6x sites and a quality team of circa 15x heads. 
Reporting into the COO, you'll be the custodian of the quality culture and performance within a high risk food category setting, encompassing production, supplier/vendor quality and overseeing this end to end across the company supply chain. At a strategic level, you will work with key functional pillars to ensure a robust quality program is rolled out across this multi-site setting, working across domestic and global quality standards including BRC, FSANZ, GFSI and others. 

What we are looking for 
This is an exciting role for an established FSQ leader that can really drive change management and functional performance, beyond just performance at audit level. You'll be someone who can breathe life into the technical subject matter and engage leaders across the business from multiple functional disciplines. Regarding your professional background, the following will ring true for you: 
  • Tertiary qualifications within a relevant technical subject matter - food science, technology etc. 
  • Demonstrated leadership within a food safety and quality role, circa 15 years of experience or thereabouts
  • Strong understanding of high risk food categories - the business operates within a high care food setting 
  • Desirably - experience driving a change management agenda within a previous or current role - you've worked through capability uplift before and are prepared to drive a function to "do better"
