About the Opportunity
Our client—a household-name snack producer based in Brisbane—is shifting its maintenance model from reactive to proactive. With multiple high-speed production lines and a clear focus on uptime, reliability and safety, they’re upgrading systems and processes to reduce downtime and extend asset life. This Maintenance Planner role will establish and embed planning frameworks that support operational targets.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will own the planning function end-to-end. You’ll develop and maintain preventive-maintenance schedules, coordinate work orders, plan shutdowns and liaise with production, stores and trades to align maintenance activities with operational needs. You will also manage data quality in the CMMS and drive maintenance KPI reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build, document and maintain short-term work orders and long-term preventive-maintenance schedules
  • Facilitate a weekly maintenance-scheduling meeting and issue the upcoming week’s work schedule
  • Develop and coordinate planned shutdown scopes, timelines and safety permits in collaboration with operations and trades
  • Liaise with stores to manage parts masters, inventory levels and procurement lead times
  • Capture and document follow-on tasks as discrete work orders to maintain CMMS data integrity
  • Perform ongoing SAP PM data-quality checks and support user adoption
  • Track maintenance KPIs—planned-vs-reactive ratio, work-order completion rate and backlog age—and drive corrective actions
  • Identify continuous-improvement opportunities, prepare business cases and oversee project implementation
  • Ensure all planning activities comply with WH&S and quality standards
What You’ll Bring
  • 4+ years’ maintenance-planning experience (or 3+ years in technical records) in a high-volume manufacturing environment (FMCG or beverages preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with SAP PM (or equivalent CMMS) and advanced MS Excel skills
  • Proven ability to develop shutdown plans and schedule complex maintenance outages
  • Strong communicator—comfortable on the factory floor and in cross-functional meetings
  • Self-starter with a “run with it” attitude and the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated track record of driving maintenance-improvement projects with measurable ROI
  • Trade or engineering qualification preferred
