About the Company
Partnering with a well-known Australian food manufacturer, this organisation has built a reputation for quality, consistency and innovation across their core product range. With a strong local footprint and a highly engaged workforce, they continue to invest in their operations and deliver on large-scale infrastructure and improvement projects. Due to continued investment and internal resourcing needs, there is now a 12-month opportunity available for a Project Engineer to join their Melbourne-based team and deliver key site projects.

The Role
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager on site, you’ll be responsible for managing capital projects end-to-end. From concept design through to commissioning, you’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. You will work closely with site teams, contractors, and suppliers to install new equipment, upgrade services, or improve plant layouts, all while keeping operations running smoothly in a live food production environment.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage small to mid-sized capital projects from scope development to handover
  • Liaise with site teams, contractors and vendors to coordinate works
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality and site standards
  • Support documentation, drawings and validation activities
  • Monitor project timelines, risks and spend, providing regular updates to stakeholders
About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical or Process desirable)
  • Proven experience delivering capital projects in manufacturing - ideally food, beverage, or FMCG
  • Strong understanding of processing equipment, utilities, or packaging lines
  • Confident managing project schedules, budgets, and documentation
  • Comfortable working across design, installation, commissioning, and handover
  • Solid experience engaging and managing contractors and suppliers onsite
