Six Degrees is seeking an experienced Supervisor to join a government department based in Toowoomba. In this role, you will oversee the delivery of construction, maintenance and minor works across a diverse portfolio of public assets. You will lead the scoping, planning and supervision of works while ensuring cost-effective delivery, compliance with safety standards and quality outcomes.

We’re looking for a confident and technically capable professional with a trade background and experience delivering building projects in a government or similar environment. You’ll combine hands-on knowledge of building services with strong coordination and communication skills.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise contractors and trade staff across maintenance and minor works projects
  • Scope works, prepare estimates, and oversee tender and procurement processes
  • Conduct WHS audits, plant and equipment checks, and ensure documentation compliance
  • Administer contracts, manage project timelines and monitor service performance
  • Perform high-quality condition assessments and deliver accurate asset reports
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders to support effective project delivery
 
What We’re Looking For:
  • Building or construction trade background (highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance, construction or upgrade supervision
  • Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and procurement processes
  • Competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and manage service frequencies
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving and organisational skills
 
Other Requirements:
  • Current White Card (WHS General Induction)
  • Current Driver’s Licence (essential for regional travel)
  • Willingness to travel regionally with overnight stays (up to 4 nights) and occasional light aircraft travel
  • National criminal history check clearance
