Our client is a leading Australian food business home to a diverse portfolio of premium local and international brands. With strong relationships across Coles, Woolworths, and independent channels, the business continues to grow its presence in key grocery categories. They offer a collaborative, down-to-earth culture and a genuine focus on commercial impact. Due to internal growth and project pipeline, they’re now looking for a Category Analyst to support their insights function across their two dynamic food businesses.
About the Role
As Category Analyst, you’ll work closely with the Category Lead and play a hands-on role, helping to drive insight led conversations with key retail partners. You will contribute to strategic category planning and day to day, you’ll support category reviews across major accounts including Coles and Woolworths, as well as the independent Grocery space. You’ll analyse both internal & external data to deliver meaningful insights, assist with range reviews, and help prepare content for both customer meetings and internal presentations. The role involves working across 2 key food portfolios, supporting sales and marketing teams to embed insight into key decision-making. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to broader research projects across too performing categories in market.
About You
You’re a commercially minded analyst who enjoys using data to tell a story and influence business decisions. Ideally, you’ve worked in FMCG in a category, insights or sales analyst role, and are confident interpreting data to identify trends and opportunities. You may have already presented insights to retailers or are keen to grow in that area with support. You’re comfortable working across multiple categories and brands in a fast-paced setting and have experience with both internal and external data sources. Most importantly, you bring a self-starter mindset, strong attention to detail, and a proactive, curious approach to your work.
