A leading Australian retailer is reshaping how category marketing drives commercial performance.  Over the past few months, the business has moved from a traditional brand led model to a true category approach. This shift places customer insight, commercial clarity and long-term growth at the centre of decision making.  This role is 12mth contract replacing one of their key leaders who is about to go on maternity leave.
 
We’re looking for a commercially minded marketer who can build a clear category point of view and translate it into measurable growth. Someone who thrives in a fast paced, multi brand environment and is comfortable balancing creativity with performance and has strong strategic thinking as you plan and define long term direction while ensuring campaigns, launches and always on activity land with impact.
 
About the role
  • Develop and lead commercially focused category marketing strategies unlocking growth opportunities  
  • Partner & collaborate with key internal stakeholders to drive alignment
  • Strengthen and elevate supplier and brand partnerships
  • Translate insight and performance data into clear category narratives
  • Strong leadersihp experience and capability to coach a high performing team

You likely have:
  • Deep experience across category, trade or brand marketing
  • Strong commercial acumen and customer understanding
  • The ability to influence senior cross functional stakeholders
  • A structured, analytical mindset paired with creative thinking
  • Proven leadership capability with experience building capability in others
  • You bring strong experience across retail or consumer environments, ideally within complex, multi brand businesses.
