About the Company
Six Degrees Executive is partnering with a global food manufacturing business to appoint an Agronomist / Field Officer to support strategic raw material supply across South Australia and Western Victoria. In Australia, it partners closely with growers across multiple regions, supplying a high-volume manufacturing operation that services both domestic and international markets.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, field-facing role working closely with growers, storage providers and plant operations.You’ll sit at the intersection of agronomy, storage management and grower relationships, with a strong focus on productivity, quality and long-term partnerships. Reporting to the Head of Agronomy, you’ll be responsible for monitoring crops from field through to storage, supporting growers to optimise yield and financial outcomes, and ensuring alignment between raw supply and manufacturing operations. You’ll work autonomously in the field while remaining closely connected to local and global agronomy teams, contributing to best practice development across varieties, regions and storage systems. This role is based in South Australia & Western Victoria with local and interstate travel required.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Partner with growers across SA and Western VIC to drive continuous improvement in crop productivity and performance
- Provide practical, science-based advice on crop management decisions
- Support the adoption of agronomy decision-support tools and technologies
- Act as a key liaison between growers and plant operations
- Monitor, manage and report on stored potato crops across company-owned and third-party storage facilities
- Implement and optimise best-practice storage management aligned to local conditions
- Work with local and global agronomy teams on variety development and agronomic recommendations
- Align production acres and variety mix with operational requirements
- Undertake field sampling in line with QA standards
- Engage with international storage expertise and stay across emerging technologies and practices
Skills & Experience required:
- A degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soils, Ag Business or a related discipline
- Proven experience in a similar Agronomist/Field Officer role essential
- Strong grower relationship management skills, with the ability to coach and influence
- Solid analytical capability, with confidence working with data and reporting
- Clear, practical communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel regionally and interstate
