Commercial Manager
Melbourne | Hybrid Working
A growing multi-site services organisation is seeking a Commercial Manager to join its leadership team in a newly created role. Reporting directly to the COO, this position will play a critical role in strengthening commercial governance, financial oversight and compliance across a national network of more than 30 locations.
The organisation has built a strong reputation through long-term partnerships, operational consistency and a collaborative culture. With the business entering its next phase of maturity, leadership is investing in stronger commercial discipline, reporting and internal control frameworks to support sustainable growth.
This role will be central to that evolution.

The Opportunity
The Commercial Manager will take ownership of commercial and financial governance across the organisation, ensuring stronger compliance, clearer reporting and improved commercial insight across the network.
A key focus of the role will be strengthening internal control frameworks — both financial and non-financial — while supporting leadership with better decision-making through improved analysis, reporting and governance.
You will work closely with the finance team and operational leadership while also engaging regularly with franchisees to ensure commercial alignment and compliance across the network.
The role has clearly defined SMART KPIs, providing strong clarity around expectations and success measures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee commercial and financial governance across the organisation.
  • Manage contract frameworks, including franchise agreements, renewals and associated financial obligations.
  • Strengthen financial compliance and reporting standards across the franchise network.
  • Assess and improve the effectiveness of internal controls, including both financial and operational control environments.
  • Improve management reporting and commercial analysis to support better decision-making.
  • Provide oversight of risk management, insurance and audit processes.
  • Partner closely with the finance team to strengthen processes, reporting and governance frameworks.
  • Work with franchisees to ensure alignment with commercial, contractual and compliance obligations.
About You
We are seeking a commercially minded professional who enjoys understanding the mechanics of complex, multi-site businesses and who can operate with a high level of autonomy.
You will likely bring:
  • Deep commercial experience, ideally within franchise, labour hire, or other multi-site service environments.
  • The ability to operate as a self-starter, comfortable working with limited supervision while driving outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, compliance, payroll-driven business models and margin structures.
  • Experience improving internal controls and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to manage difficult compliance conversations when required.
  • A collaborative approach to stakeholder management, particularly when balancing commercial value creation with network compliance.
This role requires someone comfortable building strong relationships while maintaining the discipline needed to uphold governance and commercial standards across the organisation.

Why This Role
  • Newly created role with the opportunity to shape commercial governance and reporting frameworks
  • Join a collaborative leadership team within a growing organisation
  • Hybrid working environment with three days in the office
