Product Manager - Consumer Outdoor Adventure & Aftermarket Automotive
About the Organisation
Our client is a long-standing Australian distributor and brand owner operating across consumer and mobile electronics, with a strong presence in the automotive aftermarket and outdoor adventure space. The automotive division represents a mix of globally recognised partner brands and proprietary in-house brands across car audio, 12V in-car technology, dashcams and safety tech, 4WD navigation and mapping, and automotive accessories. Products are sold through major national automotive retailers, specialist chains and independent installers across Australia and New Zealand. The automotive portfolio continues to evolve as consumer expectations, vehicle technology and off-road culture shift.
About the Role
Reporting to the GM Product Development, this role sits within a broader Product team of six and is responsible for driving the commercial performance and strategic development of a defined portfolio of products. This is a hands on, commercially focused role spanning the full product lifecycle, from identifying opportunities and assessing feasibility through to launch, performance optimisation and eventual end of life planning. The opportunity now is to further sharpen product strategy, strengthen lifecycle discipline and accelerate new product introductions across key brands. The portfolio sits within the automotive electronics and 12V technology space, supporting categories such as 4WD and off road accessories, caravan and touring electronics, and outdoor adventure power solutions. You will take ownership of a defined portfolio of automotive brands and product categories, working closely with global brand partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities and bring new products successfully to market across ANZ.

About You
You bring at least five years’ experience in Product or Category Management, ideally within automotive aftermarket, outdoor adventure or related consumer electronics categories. You thrive in a fast paced, commercially driven environment where not everything is perfectly defined. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, influencing without authority and juggling competing priorities while keeping initiatives moving forward. You work confidently with both internal and external stakeholders, from global brand owners and suppliers through to sales teams and retail partners, bringing structure, clarity and momentum to product initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:
- Working directly with global brand owners and suppliers to identify new products suitable for the ANZ market
- Conducting competitor, pricing and feasibility analysis to assess new product opportunities
- Curating commercially viable SKU ranges for retail and trade channels
- Building internal business cases and presenting new product proposals to senior stakeholders
- Developing clear go to market strategies in partnership with Sales and Marketing
- Briefing Product Development teams on directly sourced products
- Managing the full product lifecycle including launch, optimisation and end of life processes
- Monitoring sales performance and retailer sell through data to inform range decisions
- Acting as the primary brand liaison with overseas partners and suppliers
- Supporting key account conversations, retailer pitches and industry trade events
About You

- Managing margin, MOQs and commercial trade offs
- Analysing sales and sell through data to inform product decisions
- Managing the full product lifecycle from launch through to EOL
