About the Role
The Fabrication Account Manager (FAM) is the vital link between the business and its fabricator customers. This is not a traditional sales role, it’s a hybrid technical and account management position where you’ll act as a trusted software and systems partner.
You will support customers across a suite of advanced software and automation solutions, helping optimise workflows, improve detailing efficiency, and enhance plant operations. Working closely with internal engineering, software and sales teams, you’ll ensure customers are maximising value from the full ecosystem of products and services.
This role reports to a highly supportive State Manager who values autonomy, accountability and long-term career development.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a structured call cycle across allocated fabricators, maintaining strong coverage and meaningful engagement (tracked via CRM).
- Provide technical software and systems support across roof truss, floor truss and wall frame applications.
- Develop deep operational knowledge of each customer’s plant and processes to identify workflow improvements.
- Support software upgrades, installations, testing and training initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal Software, Engineering and Sales teams to deliver best-in-class service outcomes.
- Identify opportunities across products, automation, services and software to drive mutual commercial growth.
- Represent customer feedback clearly and professionally to internal teams to support continuous improvement.
- Assist in developing territory strategies aligned to sales and GP targets.
- Maintain strong market awareness, including competitor activity and industry trends.
About You
You are technically credible, commercially aware and relationship-driven. You enjoy solving problems, improving systems and partnering with customers to create smarter ways of working.
Ideal background includes:
- Strong technical and spatial understanding with high computer literacy.
- Solid understanding of residential construction fundamentals.
- CAD experience and/or strong IT/software proficiency (highly regarded).
- Experience in frame & truss, building products, construction software, or related trades.
- Proven ability to manage key accounts while delivering technical support.
- Structured, proactive and comfortable working autonomously in a hybrid model.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage detailers, plant operators and business owners alike.
- Growth mindset and desire to build a long-term career within a progressive organisation.
