Role Overview
We are seek a Senior Strategic Business Development Manager to lead major project opportunities across Western Australia.
 
This role focuses on identifying and securing large projects, typically $1M+ opportunities, by building relationships with major industrial customers and positioning the business for upcoming tenders and project work.
 
You will engage with decision makers across mining, utilities, defence and industrial sectors, working closely with engineering and project teams to structure and deliver complex solutions. It is a strategic, relationship-driven sales role suited to a BDM who is comfortable managing long sales cycles and high-value deals.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategic relationships with major industrial and corporate customers across WA
  • Identify and qualify large project opportunities
  • Lead tender submissions, commercial proposals and structured sales processes
  • Work closely with engineering, operations and finance teams to structure project solutions
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of major projects and repeat customer work
  • Coordinate internally to secure commercial approval and project investment
  • Provide market intelligence and strategic opportunities to the wider WA sales team
 
Skills and Attributes
  • Proven track record winning large B2B deals and developing strategic customer relationships
  • Experience managing tenders, proposals and complex project sales cycles
  • Background selling into mining, industrial, engineering, power, or infrastructure sectors
  • Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management capability
  • Well-connected within mining or industrial markets across WA
  • Highly driven, professional and comfortable operating in a strategic sales environment
 
Technical expertise is not essential, however experience selling project-based industrial, technical solutions or heavy equipment will be highly regarded.
