A growing international food and consumer products business with significant operations around the globe and spanning multiple categories. The parent organisation is a sizeable player in the global market, with dozens of manufacturing sites and a multi-$B turnover. The ANZ business is a entrepreneurial and commercially focused offering with a strong initial foothold in the market and ambitions to get to the $100M mark in the coming years. As the business builds upon its customer base and product portfolio, this Quality appointment will be critical to ensure robust capability across food safety and quality, regulatory and compliance domains in support of the growth ambitions. 

About the role 
Reporting into the Managing Director, this role will work closely with global manufacturing partners and local commercial stakeholders to be the custodian of the food safety and quality program for the ANZ market.
In this varied role, you'll be the local authority for all things product compliance, import legislation and customer quality standards, partnering with a mix of stakeholders domestically and abroad across supply chain, commercial teams and offshore sites. Key remit will include:
  • Managing quality assurance and regulatory compliance across the ANZ product portfolio
  • Ensuring compliance with major retailer standards and requirements across grocery and FMCG channels 
  • Oversight of import compliance and documentation for manufactured finished goods
  • Managing of the customer complaints and quality investigations program, including escalations and partnering with international manufacturing sites.

What we are looking for 
This role would suit a pragmatic and commercially aware quality professional who enjoys working in a growing and evolving business requirements. You're comfortable operating in ambiguity, solving problems and finding practical solutions that balance compliance with commercial.  Your background will likely include:
  • Strong experience around quality and compliance within the food or FMCG industry - TGA would be of additional benefit but is not essential
  • Effective stakeholder management capability, being able to influence local and global stakeholders across disciplines 
  • Deep knowledge of local standards - national retailers and external standards such as FSANZ
