About the company
The Australian Manufacturing Technology Institute Limited (AMTIL) is a membership, not-for-profit, national organisation, dedicated to the industry development of manufacturing technology, and encompasses advanced, precision manufacturing. Its key activities are the delivery of industry resources, such as Australian Manufacturing Week, and representation to governments and stakeholders. This newly created role, seeks to introduce strategic communications expertise in reaching, engaging and influencing.

About the role
As Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering communications across AMTIL’s key channels, including social media, EDMs and web content.
This role will ensure content is delivered consistently and on schedule, and you’ll play an important role in translating complex industry information into clear and accessible communications for members and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Writing and editing content for social media, EDMs, website pages and member communications
  • Managing communications calendars and coordinating content delivery across digital channels
  • Publishing and updating content within the organisation’s WordPress website
  • Translating technical or industry-specific information into clear and engaging messaging
  • Supporting communications for events, membership initiatives and industry updates
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders to gather content and develop communications briefs
  • Monitoring engagement metrics across digital channels and identifying opportunities to improve reach and effectiveness
  • Assisting with content updates as part of the organisation’s ongoing website improvements

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you will be a confident communicator who enjoys working across a variety of content formats and channels.
You will bring:
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in communications, content, marketing or a similar role
  • Experience working within a membership organisation, industry association, or B2B environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong writing and editing skills across digital formats
  • Experience managing content across social media, EDMs and websites
  • Experience using CMS platforms (WordPress preferred)
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • The ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, accessible communications
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to working with internal stakeholders
