General Manager – Operations
An opportunity exists to appoint a senior operational leader into a critical General Manager – Operations position within a well-established, market-leading manufacturing business.
This role carries full accountability for the end-to-end operational performance of a large, complex, multi-site environment. With a significant workforce and broad functional scope, the position will suit a proven leader capable of driving performance, leading transformation, and embedding a high-performing culture at scale.

The opportunity
Reporting to the executive leadership team, this role will take ownership of all manufacturing operations, with responsibility across production, safety, engineering, supply chain interface, and continuous improvement.
You will be tasked with:
  • Leading and developing a large, multi-layered workforce across multiple sites
  • Driving operational excellence, efficiency, and cost performance
  • Embedding robust systems, structure, and KPI discipline across the operation
  • Leading cultural and capability uplift across leadership teams
  • Partnering closely with executive stakeholders on strategic direction and execution
  • Delivering transformation initiatives in a fast-paced, evolving environment
About you
You are an experienced operations leader with a track record of leading large, complex manufacturing environments. You bring both strategic capability and a hands-on leadership style, with the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation.
You will likely demonstrate:
  • Proven experience in a GM / Head of Operations or equivalent leadership role
  • Background in FMCG, food manufacturing, or similarly complex, high-volume environments
  • Experience leading large teams (200+), with layered leadership structures
  • Strong commercial acumen and ownership of operational P&L performance
  • A track record of driving change, improving performance, and lifting capability
  • The ability to balance long-term strategy with day-to-day operational delivery
