Six Degrees is currently partnering with a Queensland Government organisation to recruit 2 x AO6 Senior Executive Officers for an immediate start. These positions have been created to support the delivery of urgent priorities within tight timeframes and will suit experienced government professionals who can operate confidently in a fast-paced executive environment.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with strong experience in policy writing, executive support, briefing preparation, and stakeholder coordination, particularly within the Queensland Government. You will be supporting senior leadership across a mix of strategic, operational, and project-related activities, while helping to ensure high-quality advice and materials are delivered to a consistently high standard.

We are looking for candidates who are motivated, proactive, reliable, and able to take initiative in a role that requires sound judgement, strong communication, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

As the Senior Executive Officer, you will:
• Prepare high-level briefing notes, committee papers, and other executive documentation
• Coordinate meetings, papers, and presentations on behalf of senior leadership
• Provide high-level executive support to assist decision-making and priority delivery
• Support the coordination and delivery of internal projects and initiatives
• Liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders across a range of levels
• Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism

About you:
• Demonstrated experience in a similar AO6-level role, ideally within Queensland Government
• Strong policy writing capability, including preparation of briefs, correspondence, and committee papers
• Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Proven ability to provide high-level executive support in a complex environment
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across multiple business areas
• Self-motivated, dependable, and confident working independently

Highly regarded:
• Previous experience supporting senior executives within government
• Experience coordinating internal projects or strategic initiatives
• Availability to commence at short notice
