Maintenance Scheduling Manager
Six Degrees Executive are partnering with one of our favourite clients to assist them in recruiting a hands-on and adaptable Maintenance planning & Admin Manager to join its manufacturing operations team in Sydney. This pivotal role involves leading the transformation of all maintenance planning & scheduling and administrative processes within a dynamic manufacturing and servicing environment.
This organisation is a leader in maintenance activities in their chosen sectors will be transitioning from SAP R3 to SAP S4 HANA. This presents an exciting opportunity for a professional to implement new systems and drive significant process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and own the master maintenance & production schedule, working closely on weekly/daily sequencing to meet customer due dates and internal KPI targets.
- Oversee service job scheduling, customer bookings, and turnaround expectations to optimise technician utilisation.
- Ensure accurate job creation, status updates, and closure in SAP or relevant systems.
- Chair daily/weekly production control meetings with Operations, Procurement, Demand Planning, and Sales
- Run capacity/load levelling and proactively discuss and communicate with M&S Supervisors to resolve bottlenecks across machining, assembly, testing, etc.
- Identify process inefficiencies in scheduling, admin work flows, or system usage and lead improvement initiatives.
- Support digitisation efforts, including standardisation of templates, forms, and reporting methods.
- Oversee document control for service reports, purchase orders, and customer documents.
- Manage incoming inquiries and ensure service and production admin tasks are completed on time.
- Ensure admin and scheduling practices align with ISO, WHS, environmental, and customer compliance requirements.
- Prepare and coordinate documents required for internal and external audits, ensuring records are complete, current, and easily accessible.
- The immediate priorities include building a new scheduling process, ideally within SAP.
- The role will oversee a small team of two people.
- The role aims to improve labor utilisation and provide better visibility into future planning and performance.
- Demonstrated experience in improving or changing processes is highly desirable.
- A background in manufacturing or servicing is preferred, with ideal (but not mandatory) experience using SAP.
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with project managers, demand planners, purchasing teams, and supervisors.
- Curiosity, interest, and adaptability to new systems are highly valued.
- The ability to be hands-on and willing to "get their hands dirty" is crucial, as this is not a purely directional role.
- An engineering / technical background would be advantageous.
