Six Degrees are partnering with Chobani during a major phase of growth and site expansion within their manufacturing operations at their Dandenong site. With increasing consumer demand and significant investment across the facility, Chobani is expanding processing and filling capability, upgrading production infrastructure, and introducing new equipment and lines across the site, all while maintaining day-to-day operations.

As part of this growth, they are looking for two Automation Technicians to support plant reliability, automation performance, and ongoing operational improvement across the facility. There are two positions available - one day shift (6am-2pm) and one afternoon shift (2pm-10pm).

The Role

This is a hands-on Automation Technician role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, focused on plant reliability, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and supporting the introduction of new equipment and lines across the facility. You will play a key role in identifying and resolving automation issues while supporting ongoing operational and capital project activity across the site. 

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Troubleshooting automation and control sequence issues across manufacturing lines
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives with process engineering teams
  • Learning and supporting newly installed equipment and production lines
  • Assisting with commissioning activities during expansion projects
  • Reviewing valve sequences, automation steps, false paths, and system functionality to improve plant performance and reliability

 About You
  • Experience within automated manufacturing or FMCG environment essential
  • Tertiary qualifications relevant to automation EG Diploma of Industrial Automation, process control or similar
  • Previous experience working with Rockwell PLC  ControlLogixCompactLogixRSLOGIX5000 essential
  • Familiarity with PID controls and I/O Networks
  • Exposure to commissioning or continuous improvement activities will be highly regarded
  • Solid understanding of SCADA system programming and troubleshooting including Wonderware and ignition
