Head of Sales - Personal Care

This organisation is an established contract manufacturer within the personal care sector, producing across skincare, haircare, bath and shower, and baby categories. It operates at scale with a broad SKU base and diverse customer mix, supporting both emerging brands and larger established players.
The business is at a pivotal point, with a clear mandate to reset and grow its personal care division through sharper market focus, stronger customer acquisition and better alignment between commercial strategy and manufacturing capability.
About the role:
This is a senior commercial leadership position responsible for shaping the future of the Personal Care business. Reporting to the General Manager Sales, you will lead a small cross-functional team and work closely with internal stakeholders to drive growth, strengthen customer relationships and identify new opportunities in the market.
You will spend a meaningful amount of time in front of customers, building pipeline, winning new business and ensuring the business is positioned to capture scalable opportunities. The role suits someone who enjoys both strategy and execution, with the ability to influence across the full value chain.
Duties & key responsibilities:
- Own and execute the commercial strategy for the Personal Care division, with full accountability for revenue and margin.
- Drive new customer acquisition, building a robust pipeline and converting opportunities into scalable accounts.
- Lead and develop a cross-functional team across business development, NPD and marketing.
- Stay close to the market, identifying category trends and translating them into commercially viable opportunities.
- Oversee key accounts and ensure projects are delivered and grown effectively.
- Improve the speed and effectiveness of the NPD process, from concept through to production.
- Work closely with manufacturing and supply chain to align capability with customer demand, including identifying gaps across batch sizes and production runs.
- Maintain a strong understanding of supplier base, cost structures and reformulation opportunities.
Ideal background:
- Extensive experience within the personal care industry, with strong networks across customers, suppliers and partners.
- Proven track record in B2B sales, including new business development and key account growth.
- Experience within or exposure to contract manufacturing or a similar model, with an understanding of how to translate market demand into production.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing or influencing a P&L of scale.
- Ability to lead teams and operate both strategically and hands-on in the market.
- Solid understanding of the end-to-end value chain, including market insight, NPD, supply chain and delivery.
- Likely operating at Sales Director, Business Unit or Divisional level and looking to take broader ownership.
