Plant Quality Manager

Location: melbourne
Salary: $ strong Base + Super + STIP
Job Type: permanent
Contact: Robert Scacco
About the business:

Six Degrees are proud to be supporting a well established global FMCG with a strong Australian footprint on a critical leadership appointment. This role owns the food safety and quality portfolio for a sizeable local operation with an ANZ scope. You're joining in an exciting phase, as a number of projects roll out at site level and a commercial growth agenda is taking shape. This high impact role has a real seat at the leadership table with exposure across operations, supply chain and commercial functions.

The opportunity:

This role is responsible for strategic planning and execution of the food safety and quality agenda, with remit across both day to day and more strategic objectives. Key focus points for this role will be
  • Product quality - ensuring a robust governance and delivery process from raw material through to finished product, in line with local and global standards
  • Food Safety Culture - being a key enabler for fostering a cross-functional culture where quality is owned at all levels of the business.
  • Continuous improvement - continuing to look at ways to move the needle within the quality program, also bringing a quality lens for site-wide CI initiatives
  • Supplier and vendor assurance - upstream governance to help ensure downstream product success
  • Team development - the current team you'll inherit are willing and able, and looking for a hands-on leader to guide them towards further capability

What we are looking for:

This is not a "BAU" quality role where the focus is compliance. This is an opportunity for a strong, commercially minded and customer-oriented FSQ professional to step into a role with scale and influence. We are seeking:
  • Strong technical subject matter experience - food manufacturing essential for this role
  • Proven people management capability
  • Demonstrated ability to be in both an inwards and outwards facing quality leadership role
  • Commercial aptitude, where quality can be an enabler for future pipeline and a partner function inside the business
