About the company
Six Degrees Executive is proud to be partnering with Graphene Manufacturing Group (GMG) to recruit a Process Engineer for their Brisbane-based operation.

GMG is a clean technology and advanced nano-technology manufacturing business focused on producing graphene in-house and developing graphene-enabled products across energy saving and energy storage applications.

The business is continuing to scale its local production capability and commercialise specialist products across industrial and technical markets.

This role would suit a practical Process Engineer who enjoys working on-site, supporting projects, solving technical problems, and working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors.

Key responsibilities

  • Support site-based engineering projects across process improvement, plant upgrades, and operational development.
  • Work with technical documentation including P&IDs, process information, specifications, and project records.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, reporting, cost tracking, and delivery updates.
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to support project outcomes.
  • Support procurement activities, including technical requirements, supplier engagement, and escalation of approvals where required.
  • Apply strong safety knowledge across permits, isolations, pre-starts, hot works, cold works, and site-based activities.
  • Support design review and project coordination, including exposure to 3D modelling tools and plant layouts.
  • Work with piping, pressure, temperature, valves, and related process equipment in an industrial setting.
  • Contribute to practical, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions rather than over-engineered outcomes.
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the business.

Skills and experience

  • Degree-qualified in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Project, or similar engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of piping specifications such as ASME B31 is necessity
  • Experience in a site-based process, project, industrial, manufacturing, or plant engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of P&IDs and the ability to interpret, update, and work from technical documentation.
  • Good working knowledge of site safety requirements, including permits, isolations, and contractor management.
  • Exposure to piping, pressure vessels, valves, pressure, temperature, and related industrial systems.
  • Experience working with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, or external service providers.
  • Exposure to 3D design/model review tools such as Navisworks would be highly regarded.
  • Practical, curious, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a lean, fast-moving environment.
  • Experience across specialty manufacturing, industrial projects, energy, utilities, chemicals, materials, or similar sectors would be well regarded.
