Our client: Six Degrees Executive has partnered with a leading national retailer and supply chain network undergoing continued investment and transformation across its transport operations function. With a large-scale distribution footprint and a strong focus on operational excellence, safety, and service delivery, this business plays a critical role in servicing stores across New South Wales.

Due to ongoing growth and the need to further strengthen transport leadership capability, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced State Transport Operations Manager to join the team in a newly created leadership position.

The role: Will focus on leading transport operations across a multi-site network, driving improvements in service delivery, cost optimisation, safety, and team capability. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring close collaboration with operational leaders across the network. You’ll be responsible for uplifting transport performance, embedding strong safety standards, and ensuring consistent delivery outcomes across a complex and fast-paced environment.

The position will involve regular travel across multiple operational sites throughout New South Wales.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading transport operations across a large multi-site network
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across service, cost, and safety
  • Managing and developing operational leadership teams
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders across operations and supply chain
  • Improving transport efficiencies and operational performance
  • Creating a strong safety-first culture across sites
To be successful, you will bring:
  • Strong leadership experience within large-scale transport operations
  • Proven experience managing leaders and operational management teams
  • Exposure to retail, grocery, FMCG, or high-volume store delivery networks
  • The ability to operate confidently within a fast-paced and highly visible environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to influence operational outcomes
  • Experience working within complex transport or distribution networks
Candidates from large transport networks or businesses servicing major retail environments will be highly regarded.
