Six Degrees Executive is partnering with a well-established Australian FMCG business to recruit a Quality Manager for their Acacia Ridge based operation.
The business manufactures and supplies branded and private label products to major supermarket chains, independent retailers, food service customers, distributors and brokers nationally.

Operating within the food and beverage sector, the business has an established quality management system and a long-standing presence in the Australian market.

This role is being recruited as a 12-month maternity leave cover and would suit a practical Quality Manager who enjoys working on-site, owning quality end-to-end, supporting audits, managing documentation, and working closely with production, logistics, suppliers, customers and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve the SQF quality and food safety management system.
  • Ensure quality documentation, SOPs, work instructions, specifications and records remain current and controlled.
  • Lead internal audits, customer audits and certification body audits across the site.
  • Support upcoming SQF, organic, sustainability and packaging compliance requirements.
  • Act as a key quality contact for major grocery customers and support retailer compliance requirements.
  • Manage customer complaints, non-conformances, corrective actions and quality-related investigations.
  • Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to maintain quality standards, compliance records and approved supplier requirements.
  • Partner closely with production, packaging, logistics and leadership teams to support product quality and food safety.
  • Support NPD from a quality perspective, including allergens, labelling, product information and safe product design.
  • Oversee basic WHS requirements including incident reporting, investigations and hazard identification.
  • Train, mentor and support a developing Quality Coordinator.


Skills and experience
  • Experience in quality management within food, beverage, ingredients, FMCG or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMP and food safety management systems.
  • Experience hosting internal, customer and third-party audits.
  • Strong document control capability, with high attention to detail across quality systems and compliance records.
  • Experience working with major retailer quality requirements would be highly regarded.
  • Exposure to supplier quality, customer complaints, non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Experience with certification schemes such as organic, sustainability, packaging or similar would be beneficial.
  • Basic WHS knowledge, including incident reporting, investigations and hazard identification.
  • Practical, organised and comfortable working in a hands-on, site-based environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production, leadership, suppliers and customers.
  • Comfortable mentoring and developing a junior quality team member.
