General Manager - Brand Marketing

Location: sydney
Salary: Competitive salary package and benefits
Job Type: permanent
Contact: Rachel Shermer
Lead the next chapter of growth for one of Australia's most recognised purpose-led consumer brands.

We are proud to be partnering with an iconic Australian consumer brand to appoint a General Manager Brand Marketing.
This is a rare opportunity to join an organisation where commercial success and purpose go hand in hand. Reporting to an accomplished Chief Marketing Officer, you will become the second-in-command of the marketing function, leading a talented team while shaping the strategy, execution and performance of a nationally recognised brand entering an exciting phase of growth.
If you're looking for a role where you can influence business performance, build high-performing teams and create marketing that genuinely makes an impact, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

The Opportunity
As General Manager, Brand Marketing, you will lead the day-to-day marketing function, translating strategic priorities into integrated marketing programmes that drive customer acquisition, loyalty, brand relevance and commercial growth.
Partnering closely with the CMO and executive leadership team, you'll shape and execute national marketing campaigns, product launches, social and content strategies, partnerships, communications and customer initiatives across a complex, fast-moving franchise business.
This is a highly visible leadership role requiring equal parts strategic thinking and operational excellence. You'll bring structure, clarity and pace to the marketing agenda while ensuring every initiative delivers measurable commercial outcomes.
While this is a leadership position, it is far from a role where you simply set the strategy and step back. You'll inherit a talented, agile and high-performing team that consistently punches above its weight. The function is intentionally lean, so success will come from your ability to think strategically, empower your team and, when required, roll up your sleeves to keep momentum and deliver outstanding outcomes.
You'll be equally comfortable presenting to the executive team as you are reviewing campaign creative, challenging agency thinking, analysing performance data or working alongside your team to solve complex marketing challenges. This is a role for a leader who enjoys building capability while remaining close enough to the work to drive quality, pace and commercial impact.

What You'll Be Responsible For
  • Leading the brand marketing function across integrated campaigns, brand, social, content, partnerships and communications.
  • Translating strategic priorities into executable annual, quarterly and campaign plans.
  • Driving customer growth through insight-led marketing that increases guest traffic, frequency and average transaction value.
  • Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing marketing team while fostering a collaborative, accountable and high-performance culture.
  • Partnering with product, operations, finance and franchise stakeholders to successfully deliver national campaigns and menu innovation.
  • Managing agency partners across creative, media, PR, digital and production to maximise performance and return on investment.
  • Championing social-first thinking and ensuring the brand remains culturally relevant across emerging platforms and channels.
  • Providing commercial insight and performance reporting to support executive decision-making.
  • Managing marketing investment, budgets and campaign effectiveness with a strong focus on measurable return.
About You
You're an accomplished marketing leader who thrives in fast-paced consumer businesses and understands how to balance creativity with commercial outcomes.
You'll bring experience leading integrated marketing functions ideally within QSR, retail, hospitality, lean FMCG teams or another multi-site franchise environment, where pace, complexity and stakeholder management are part of everyday life.
You are commercially astute, highly collaborative and bring the confidence to influence across executive leadership, franchisees, cross-functional stakeholders and agency partners. You're energised by change, comfortable navigating ambiguity and know how to maintain momentum in an environment where priorities can shift quickly.
Whether you're an established leader or a Head of looking to take the next step into a broader leadership role, you'll bring the strategic capability, leadership maturity and execution discipline to succeed.

You'll also bring:
  • A proven track record delivering integrated brand and commercial marketing strategies that drive measurable business growth.
  • Deep expertise across brand, digital, social, customer marketing, loyalty, partnerships and campaign development.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, agencies and marketing investment.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • A leadership style that develops people, builds capability and creates accountability.
  • The ability to seamlessly move between long-term strategic planning and hands-on execution.
Why This Opportunity?
This organisation has built one of Australia's most recognisable consumer brands while remaining deeply committed to making a positive difference in the communities it serves.
You'll be joining at an exciting point in the brand's evolution, working alongside an ambitious CEO and CMO who are investing in capability, innovation and building a world-class marketing function. Together, you'll shape the future of the brand, strengthen customer engagement and drive sustainable commercial growth.
