There isn't an established playbook, mature operating model or lengthy approval process. Instead, you'll help define what great looks like, build capability from scratch and continuously improve how the business acquires, engages and converts customers online. The Opportunity
This is a highly hands-on role where you'll own digital performance across the entire customer journey. You'll combine e-commerce, content, digital marketing, optimisation and analytics to continually improve commercial outcomes. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across merchandising, product and marketing, ensuring every digital touchpoint contributes to sales growth. You'll have the autonomy to test ideas, move quickly, challenge conventional thinking and continually improve performance through data and experimentation. Success won't come from maintaining the status quo. It'll come from testing new ideas, learning fast and delivering measurable commercial results across every digital channel.

What you'll be doing
- Lead the digital performance strategy for a growing direct-to-consumer e-commerce business.
- Drive online revenue growth across website, social and digital marketing channels.
- Develop and execute content, merchandising and digital initiatives that improve customer acquisition, conversion and retention.
- Continually optimise the online customer experience using a test-and-learn approach.
- Analyse customer behaviour, campaign performance and digital analytics to identify opportunities for growth.
- Champion SEO, digital merchandising, content optimisation and e-commerce best practice.
- Build experimentation into everything you do, using data to validate decisions rather than assumptions.
- Partner closely with merchandising and product teams to ensure digital activity supports trading priorities, product launches and commercial objectives.
- Establish new ways of working, processes and priorities as the business continues to evolve.
- Influence stakeholders while remaining comfortable rolling up your sleeves and delivering yourself.
- Stay across emerging digital platforms, AI tools and evolving best practice, bringing new ideas into the business.
You'll bring experience from a high-performing e-commerce or direct-to-consumer environment where commercial performance is front and centre. You'll also bring:
- Significant experience leading digital performance, e-commerce or digital marketing within a retail or direct-to-consumer business.
- A genuinely hands-on approach. You're happy working in the detail, whether that's analytics, website optimisation, content or digital channels.
- Strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to grow online revenue and improve digital performance.
- Deep understanding of e-commerce, SEO, digital merchandising, customer journeys, conversion optimisation and digital analytics.
- A test-and-learn mindset, using experimentation and data to continually improve outcomes.
- The ability to operate comfortably without complete structure or certainty. You enjoy building capability, creating processes and making decisions in ambiguous environments.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence across merchandising, product and marketing teams.
- Curiosity, resilience and a bias for action.
