Head of Purchasing and Procurement

Village Roadshow is a leading international media and entertainment company, with businesses spanning Cinema, Movie Production, Film, TV, Digital Distribution and Theme Parks.
Their Theme Parks division delivers exceptional standards of Entertainment, Service and Fun to millions of guests every year across some of Australia's most iconic entertainment destinations.

About the Role

They are looking for a commercially savvy procurement leader to take the reins of purchasing and procurement across Village Roadshow Theme Parks, Sea World Resort and Topgolf.
Reporting to the General Manager Finance, you'll provide strategic direction over approximately $200 million in annual indirect spend across food & beverage, retail, facilities, maintenance, utilities and corporate services. This is a genuine opportunity to build and shape a centralised procurement / purchasing function from a position of real influence — driving measurable savings, strengthening supply continuity, and elevating governance across a diverse, multi-site operational group.
You'll be a trusted commercial advisor to leaders across the business, shaping sourcing decisions, managing supply risk, and building the capability of your Procurement and Purchasing team.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute the group procurement strategy and annual category plans across a broad range of indirect spend categories
  • Lead strategic sourcing, tendering and negotiation of major supply agreements
  • Champion and embed a centralised procurement operating model across VRTP, Sea World Resort and Topgolf
  • Own the end-to-end contract lifecycle, from tender through to negotiation and sign-off
  • Select, endorse and manage preferred suppliers against contractual KPIs
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain, commercial and legal risk
  • Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting and reporting of the procurement portfolio
  • Build, lead and develop a high-performing Procurement and Purchasing team
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executive and operational stakeholders across the group
  • Drive enhancements to procure-to-pay systems and processes in partnership with Finance and ICT
About You

You're a confident procurement leader with a track record of success in complex, multi-site operational environments — ideally within tourism, hospitality, entertainment, retail or FMCG.
You bring the following skills / attributes:
  • Substantial experience managing significant indirect spend portfolios and delivering measurable commercial value
  • Strong capability across strategic sourcing, category management, contract negotiation and supplier relationship management
  • A contemporary, coaching-oriented leadership style, with proven success building and developing high-performing teams
  • Polished negotiation and stakeholder influencing skills, at both executive and supplier level
  • A tertiary qualification in procurement, supply chain, business or commerce (CIPS membership or postgraduate qualifications highly regarded)
  • Sound understanding of contract and commercial law
  • Demonstrated experience leading change and embedding centralised procurement operating models
  • Strong systems capability across ERP and procure-to-pay environments (SAP experience an advantage)
  • Resilience and composure operating through complexity, change and peak trading periods
This opportunity will suit an accomplished procurement leader of an emerging professional with the drive to succeed and support a market leader in their industry.

This is a rare opportunity to forge procurement / purchasing strategy, with genuine influence over how one of Australia's best-known entertainment groups buys, sources and manages supplier relationships.
You'll work alongside passionate, experienced leaders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where no two days are the same — and where your work directly shapes the guest experience for millions of visitors each year.
