Six Degrees are partnering with a leading global organisation within the life sciences sector to recruit a Process Engineer to join their Utilities Engineering team. This is an opportunity to work within a world-class manufacturing facility, supporting critical utility systems that enable the production of life-saving products. 

About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, compliance and continuous improvement of essential manufacturing utilities, working closely with operations, maintenance, engineering teams and external contractors.
The Opportunity Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, you will provide engineering support across critical utility systems, ensuring reliable and compliant operation in line with cGMP requirements. Experience with pharmaceutical utilities such as cleanroom HVAC, purified water systems, WFI, pure steam or critical gases will be highly regarded.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Provide engineering support for critical utility systems including HVAC, purified water, WFI, pure steam, gases and mechanical services.
  • Investigate plant failures, operational incidents and deviations, identifying root causes and implementing improvement solutions.
  • Support CAPA investigations, change controls and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyse plant performance data, maintenance history, energy usage and reliability trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop engineering solutions to improve equipment reliability, efficiency and operational performance.
  • Support commissioning, qualification and validation activities for new equipment and system upgrades.
  • Prepare technical documentation including engineering briefs, scopes of work, risk assessments and system requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, quality and project teams to maintain GMP compliance.
  • Support shutdown activities, contractor management and technical works.
About You
You will be a Process Engineer with experience supporting manufacturing operations, utilities or complex process systems.

You will ideally have:
  • Tertiary qualification in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience working within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, chemical or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to utilities systems, process equipment, plant operations or reliability engineering.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of GMP principles and regulated manufacturing requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret plant performance data and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
