Job description Six Degrees Executive are delighted to be partnering with a leading global FMCG manufacturer to recruit a critical Maintenance Manager position, leading the maintenance function across two manufacturing facilities in Melbourne's south-east.

This opportunity will play a key role in driving plant reliability, developing maintenance capability and embedding a proactive maintenance culture across the business.
Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Director, the Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance function across two manufacturing sites, partnering closely with Operations, Quality, Continuous Improvement and Engineering to deliver safe, reliable and efficient manufacturing outcomes.
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving maintenance strategy, improving equipment reliability and developing a high-performing maintenance team while supporting ongoing operational and capital improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing the maintenance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Driving the transition from reactive to preventative maintenance practices.
- Improving equipment reliability, asset performance and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Managing maintenance planning, scheduling, contractors and maintenance budgets.
- Supporting reliability improvement initiatives and capital projects across both manufacturing sites.
- Partnering closely with Operations to minimise downtime and maximise plant performance.
- Driving structured root cause analysis and preventative maintenance improvements.
- Building strong cross-functional relationships and positioning Maintenance as a trusted operational partner.
- Leading safe maintenance practices while ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.
About You To be successful, you will bring:
- 5+ years' experience at the Maintenance Manager level
- Proven experience leading and developing maintenance teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets, contractors and maintenance systems.
- A track record of improving plant reliability and driving preventative maintenance strategies.
- A visible, shop floor leadership style with the ability to influence across all levels of the business.
- Strong commercial acumen and a continuous improvement mindset.
Trade-qualified and engineering-qualified candidates will both be considered.
